Peppery, meaty and blueberry aromas emerge on the nose of the 2018 Cornas Domaine de Saint Pierre. Never one of the house's biggest or burliest bottlings, it's medium to full-bodied, with a silky feel on the palate and ample length on the finish. The vineyard is on a gentle slope near the very top of the appellation 2021-2030.

Paul Jaboulet Ainé’s Domaine de Saint Pierre Cornas comes from a plot that is often the last of their vineyards to be harvested and is only released if the vintage is deemed exceptional. The 2018 is a wonderful release that exhibits alluring notes of red and black fruits, wild herbs and crushed stone minerality. It is medium- to full-bodied and flirts with opulence, yet is always reigned in at just the right moment by vibrant acidity and a subtle weave of tannins.
