Recorded as a wine producer in 1234, Lafite received Premier Grand Cru Classé status in 1855 and was acquired by Baron James de Rothschild in 1868. Its 112-hectare Pauillac vineyard is planted on deep, fine gravel and includes parcels adjoining Saint-Estèphe.
Vintage & producer notes
Early budbreak and uniform June flowering were followed by uneven véraison. Strict harvesting and sorting retained only the healthiest, ripest fruit, producing a fresh, harmonious and elegant 2014 with substantial structure.

Vinification
Fermented in wooden, stainless-steel or concrete vats according to parcel and ripeness, with controlled temperatures, regular pump-overs and approximately 20 days of maceration.
Maturation
After malolactic fermentation and individual barrel selection, the final blend was aged for a further 20 months in French oak barrels, primarily new.
