Vintage Character

A wet, cold start delayed flowering and reduced yields. Summer improved, but September rain and botrytis pressure forced rapid harvesting and rigorous sorting, producing a Cabernet-dominant, structured and initially austere Lafite.

The estate described the young wine as closed and nearly austere on the nose, solid and increasingly voluminous through the palate, with a long, pleasantly fruity finish and lingering oak traces.

Winemaking & Maturation

Following a challenging, botrytis-pressured season, fruit was rigorously sorted, fermented in wood, steel or concrete, macerated for around 20 days, and matured for 20 months in primarily new French oak.

Fermented in wooden, stainless-steel or concrete vats at controlled temperature with regular pumping over; approximately 20 days of maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation and individual barrel selection.
