Vintage Character

A hot, very dry summer created water stress, but Duhart-Milon's cool, late-ripening terroir coped well. Mid-September rain allowed the grapes to complete ripening under optimal conditions.

Tasting Profile & Food Pairing

Dark with violet-black glints. The nose is fine, complex and delicate, combining freshness with integrated toast. Pure and delicate initially, the palate gains volume and Cabernet density, finishing long and balanced.

Winemaking & Maturation

The fruit was sorted, fermented by parcel in concrete or stainless steel, gently extracted over about 20 days, then matured in French oak barrels, 50% new.

Winery Background

Neighbouring Château Lafite Rothschild, Duhart-Milon was acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) in 1962. Its Pauillac vineyard lies on the Milon hillside, with fine gravel and aeolian sand over tertiary limestone.
